Toitu Visit

Welcome Back to Term 4. Last week was a super start back to Term 4 with the children raring to go. We did, of course, have our School Trip into town to Toitu on Friday to kick start our new topic: Transport through the Ages.

On the bus and raring to go...

Morning Tea at the museum...

So many things to look at...

We had lots of questions.....

This weekend is a celebration of the time that Josephine the Steam Train came to Dunedin from England...

We looked at all different kinds of transport from waka to bikes....

The children were impeccably behaved and I was even stopped by a gentleman from the North Island; a retired teacher, who wanted to let me know how particularly polite and well behaved the children were - so that was lovely!

We got to have a little playtime at the museum and even got to dress up...

We split up into small groups to investigate further...

On the way home we stopped at the park for lunch and a play...

Manu iti received a letter at the end of our last topic, from an elderly lady in town who had read about our magnificent rubbish collecting day. She was so impressed about what we did she wanted us to have a wee treat and sent us a cheque! Mrs Bayne took the money to the supermarket in Mosgiel and bought us all an ice lolly! What a treat!

Mrs Bayne enjoyed to park...

What a wonderful school trip.
