Hi Everyone...

Hi Everyone

As your child’s new teacher I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you.
I have worked in Room 3 before, alongside Mrs Bellamy, so am very familiar with many of the
special routines (and friends: SuperTed, Mr Tweety-Bird) that the children all know and are
used to.

Both of my own children have been lucky enough to attend Outram Primary School and
now attend town High Schools. I have been working at Outram School in a relieving capacity
(both short and long term) for a number of years. I live locally with my husband, two children
(Joe and Evie Rose), our two cats, dog, too many chickens to count and an awful lot of
fish (in various tanks). I love teaching, reading, walking, cooking, being with my family and
learning new things!

I have spent much of the holidays learning what I can about your children and am very much
looking forward to being their new teacher and getting to know them. Please feel free to pop in
and say hello before or after school or send me an email julieg@outram.school.nz.
I am very happy to make an appointment with you if you have any concerns at any point in the
term.

I will be blogging all our Room 3 Learning adventures on
https://room3busybee.blogspot.co.nz/

I am looking for parent/grandparent help in the classroom for Reading (Mon-Thurs 11am)
Writing (Tues-Thurs 9.30-10.30) or for Maths (Mon-Thurs 12.00-12.45). If you would like,
and are available, to help please drop me an email.

One significant change in Room 3 is regarding homework. This will be given out on
a Wednesday and collected in on a Wednesday. This will give the children a whole week to
complete the tasks - taking the pressure off a little during the week; when little ones are tired.
I would, however, like the children to read their reading books every day after school
(obviously just pop a note in the reading log if there has been a busy evening at home - we
all get nights like these!).

Have a great Term 2 everyone and I look forward to meeting you all at some point.
